Hormones and Cancer
The main objective of the laboratory is to contribute to the treatment of breast cancer from basic/applied research. We carry out two main lines of work. One of them deals with the effect of stress hormones and different compounds that can improve the treatment of patients and reduce the toxicity of some drugs (especially chemotherapy), thus improving their quality of life. The other line of investigation involves how to resolve cases of resistance to hormone therapy in breast cancer by studying the mechanisms of action of the drugs used and finding novel therapeutic targets.
