Some members of the Buffone team recently participated in the SuperResolution (SuperRes) Congress 2024 in Latin America, held from August 22 to 23 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Dr. Mariano Buffone and Dr. Ana Romarowski were part of the organizing committee, collaborating with microscopy specialists to carry out this highly significant scientific event.
Dr. Martina Jabloñski gave an oral presentation in the session “Single Molecule Localization Microscopy” titled:
“The Helical Structure of Polymerized Actin in the Mouse Sperm Flagellum Undergoes a Structural Change to Cease Motility at the Time of Sperm-Egg Fusion”.

“CatSper1 KO Sperm Show Reduced Capacity to Undergo Acrosomal Exocytosis Due to Alterations in the Plasma Membrane Potential”.

The congress, funded by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, was an incredibly enriching experience for the team, enabling the acquisition of new knowledge, updates on the latest research, and the establishment of connections with leading researchers in the field of advanced microscopy.
